This procedure allows visualisation of the upper airway and as for as the tracheal bifurcation. Applications include diagnosing upper airway disease such as “roarers”, displaced soft palate, Bleeders (EIPH), Guttural pouch disease, PLH, Ethmoid Hematoma.
More recently the “Dynamic Scope” has been developed allowing the pharynx to be observed remotely while the horse works on the track or a treadmill. Such examination requires referral to a Specialist Equine Hospital.
